To assist the people we care for to enjoy a nutritious and unhurried mealtime experience, support with their wellbeing needs and preparation for the day ahead.
Core responsibilities
To support residents to eat their meals in a person-centred approach maintaining choice and dignity throughout.
To support residents to use the bathroom.
To support with the moving and handling needs of the residents.
To have meaningful interactions with the residents cared for.
To ensure that the area is clean, tidy and free from hazards.
To advise the chef of the number of residents at breakfast and lunch time and also any requirement for meals to be taken to individual rooms.
To transfer meals from the kitchen area to the dining room and serve to residents in a polite and friendly manner.
To clear down the dining room following a service ensuring that all dirty cutlery, plates and glasses are taken into the kitchen for cleaning.
Advise care staff wherever appropriate in any changes to residents tastes, preferences or appetite.
To report any complaints to the Registered Manager and/or the Head Chef as appropriate.
To support with beverages throughout the duration of the shift.
